About Us
We are a NY-based behavioral health practice providing virtual therapy and related services. We're focused on expanding our services, both into new areas like psychiatry, and growing into new states beyond NY.
We generate between $5MM - $10MM in annual revenue, and have 80 clinicians on the team.
About the Work
We need to reduce CEO involvement in daily operations while ensuring the business runs smoothly as we scale. We're looking for a Fractional COO to take full ownership of operational execution and decision-making across the organization. Success will largely be measured by a significant reduction in the CEO's day-to-day involvement in the org.
Specifically, you'll:
- Own daily operational execution across intake, scheduling, billing coordination, internal workflows, and administrative teams
- You'll enforce these workflows and standards across the team, even if there's resistance
- Absorb and resolve operational issues, escalations, and workflow breakdowns without CEO involvement
- You'll be the primary decision maker for most operational matters, the primary point of escalation, and act as a shield to the CEO
- Set priorities, deadlines, and ensure follow-through on all initiatives
- You'll be responsible for closing the loop across initiativies, proactively communicating status updates
- Manage performance, compensation, and comp increases across the team via rules-based compensation frameworks, NOT reliance on subjective CEO judgement
- Oversee our company KPIs
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and exits for our non-clinical roles
- Manage a full-time Senior Operations Manager
This is a critical role for the company, and we're open to the right fractional or full-time candidates.
About You
You MUST have:
- Held COO, VP, Head Of, and similar Ops titles at other small/mid size services-based businesses that have grown quickly
- Led Ops for orgs with lots of people (50+), complex ops across teams, and highly autonomous individuals
- Played the role of primary decision maker for the company - acting as the shield to the CEO
- Highly process, system-design, and automation oriented
- Owned performance and compensation frameworks
- Based in the USA only
- Healthcare experience is NOT required for this role
Nice-to-haves:
- Comfort with insurance-based business models
- Worked in highly regulated industries
- Healthcare experience, especially telehealth
