Hutch Contract is a national furniture procurement firm specializing in high-end multifamily, hospitality, and commercial projects. We collaborate with leading developers, architects, and designers across 25+ states to deliver exceptional, design-driven environments with precision, creativity, and service.
We’re growing rapidly and looking for an experienced Fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Omaha team. This person will help refine our systems, connect our departments, and create operational clarity as we scale into our next phase of growth.
Position Overview
The Fractional COO will work closely with the CEO and department leads to oversee and optimize Hutch’s day-to-day operations — connecting our finance, project management, logistics, and design teams. You’ll be responsible for identifying operational inefficiencies, building repeatable processes, implementing system integrations, and ensuring that our projects stay on schedule and on budget.
This is a 6-month contract position based in Omaha, NE, with the opportunity for hybrid flexibility (typically 3–4 days in-office per week) and potential for full-time employment after the contract period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Alignment: Connect and streamline all internal systems (finance, operations, logistics, project management) to improve collaboration and data visibility.
- Process Improvement: Audit and refine workflows from project kickoff to delivery, focusing on efficiency, communication, and accountability.
- Team Leadership: Support and guide internal teams (finance, ops, project management, and installation) to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met.
- Systems Integration: Oversee or improve integrations across platforms including Monday.com, QuickBooks, Gusto, Google Workspace, and warehouse/logistics systems.
- Scheduling & Logistics Oversight: Coordinate timelines and logistics for nationwide projects — ensuring seamless furniture delivery and installation.
- Accountability & Metrics: Establish clear KPIs, weekly check-ins, and operational scorecards to measure performance and progress.
- Scalability: Identify areas to automate, delegate, or document — building structure and operational consistency for future growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a COO, Director of Operations, or equivalent role, preferably within the furniture, design, logistics, or construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of systems integration, process optimization, and multi-team coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Monday.com, Gusto, and Google Workplace preferred.
- Must be based in Omaha, NE — hybrid flexibility available (3–4 days/week in office).
- Experience in high-growth or creative environments is a plus.
