About Us
We buy, sell, repair, and recycle telecom equipment, working with phone companies around the world. Our business includes equipment brokerage, recycling surplus network assets, and repair services, with operations spanning multiple countries.
We're doing $4MM in annual revenue, with a team of over 60 employees, mostly outside the USA.
About the Work
We're looking for a fractional CFO to professionalize our finance function and help position the business for a successful acquisition.
Specifically, you'll:
- Oversee and improve financial reporting, including a simple monthly close process
- Create dashboards to track things like: operating margins, headcount costs, and business unit performance
- Identify margin improvement opportunities for the business
- One example is compensation changes across the org, but there are likely others
- Evaluate and guide our migration off QuickBooks Online (likely to Xero)
- Get our business ready to start M&A conversations with PE firms and other strategic acquirers
- Oversee our external accounting / bookkeeping firm
- Work most closely with our Founder / CEO
About You
You MUST have:
- Played CFO, VP, or Head of Finance type roles for other SMBs with similar revenue to ours ($4MM)
- Exposure to industries like:
- Telecom / networking equipment
- Repair, refurb, and resale services (e.g. in electronics or other aftermarket goods)
- Recycling, e-waste, asset recovery businesses
- Inventory-heavy distribution or brokerage businesses with international shipping/import-export operations
- Experience preparing for and leading M&A, including typical PE diligence
Some nice-to-haves:
- Built lightweight finance dashboards and automated reporting using modern tools
