Position Overview
As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our HR strategy to support both our current team and our future growth. Reporting to our Chief of Staff, Max Fenske, you will provide strategic and tactical guidance to HR colleagues while leading key HR projects, programs, and policies. You will be working part-time (~24 hours per week).
You will be a trusted advisor to our leadership team on all HR-related topics, ensuring alignment between HR initiatives and business objectives. In this role, you’ll focus on building a strong foundation for our people operations and fostering a culture that reflects our core values of curiosity, change, connectedness, and ownership, ensuring every employee is supported to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include driving initiatives in talent management, employee engagement, leadership development, and HR policies. By partnering with our leadership, you’ll help shape an environment that promotes growth, collaboration, and high performance across the organization.

Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Assess and identify key HR priorities and develop a forward-looking HR strategy & roadmap that supports the company’s rapid growth and evolving business needs. This includes evaluating current HR policies and practices, and driving key initiatives to enhance employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. Partner with leadership to ensure that the HR strategy supports overall company goals while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
Operational HR Excellence
- Evaluate operational HR processes and systems, ensuring they meet the needs of our fast-growing, remote-first organization. Focusing on: Onboarding and Off-boarding, HR Systems and Process Optimization, HR Project Management, Compliance Management (labor laws, employment contracts, etc.), Educating the team on HR Management fundamentals.
Deliverables Ownership
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of key HR projects, such as the development of an annual incentive plan, mobility policy implementation, harmonization of HR policies across markets post-merger and the development of a company handbook reflecting our remote-first policy.
Team Empowerment & Mentorship
- Inspire and mentor our People Team’s professionals. Provide them with the knowledge and tools needed to elevate their skills, moving them toward becoming senior HR & people leaders who are well-versed in strategic and operational HR.
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of current trends, challenges, and opportunities in HR management, particularly in scaling companies and remote-first organizations.
- Experience in guiding companies through periods of rapid growth or change, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruptions to employees.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies, including employee engagement, policy development, and change management.
- Proven expertise in HR operations, including onboarding/off-boarding, compliance management, and the implementation of HR systems and processes.
- Strong understanding of compensation and benefits strategies, performance management frameworks, and succession planning.
- Ability to mentor and coach a team of HR professionals, fostering their development into senior HR leadership roles.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate HR concepts and policies to employees, managers, and leadership.
- Familiarity with labor laws and employment regulations in international markets, especially across multiple countries.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Hast at least 8 years of HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a Senior HR Business Partner or similar leadership role in a fast-growing company.
- Demonstrates strong strategic HR thinking and can balance both strategic vision and operational implementation.
- Shows a deep understanding of scaling companies and remote-first organizations, particularly within the tech sector.
- Is capable of driving change management initiatives in complex environments, such as company mergers, expansions, or department restructurings.
- Exhibits strong problem-solving skills and is motivated by building and implementing HR systems that support organizational growth.
- Values a collaborative work culture and demonstrates the ability to work across functions and with leadership to align HR strategies with overall business goals.
- Is comfortable working in a remote-first work environment, while being able to occasionally travel for collaboration purposes.
- Is based in the Netherlands and willing to work part-time (24 hours per week).
