About Us
Whalesync is building a new kind of advanced data pipeline that makes it easy to create two-way, real-time syncing between key business tools like HubSpot and Airtable. Whalesync launched during Y Combinator’s S21 cohort. Whalesync is a customer data integration platform (CDIP). It enables you to two-way sync customer data across your entire GTM stack from Salesforce to Airtable to Postgres. Since then we’ve raised from some of the world’s top investors. We’re now trusted by hundreds of companies like Ramp, Webflow, and Alchemy, and process millions of transactions every day.
Role overview
Skills: Figma
We’re looking for a product designer (UI/UX) to help design new features in our core product while our lead designer is on leave from October to February. This is a fractional, contract role.
What we’re looking for
We see design as an integral part of the product development process - not a final step at the end to produce pretty Figma mocks.
In this role, you’ll be working directly with our engineers and co-founders to design new features. Early in the process you’ll provide feedback to help shape how the feature should work. Later in the process you’ll be responsible for delivering final designs in Figma. As we build the features you help design, you’ll collaborate with engineers to iterate on those initial designs based on feedback.
Because this role is collaborative, we expect you to spend 2-5 hours per week in our virtual office working side-by-side with us as we do our best to deliver awesome products.
Types of features you will design
- Analytics dashboard - how might we give our users more visibility into their syncing?
- Alerts - how might we make it easier for our users to handle data that can’t be synced?
- Postgres onboarding - how might we make it insanely easy to connect a Postgres database?
You’ll be a good fit for this role if
- You enjoy working closely with product and engineering to iterate on features synchronously (rather than always having work thrown over the wall for you to deliver asynchronously).
- You have a keen sense of what “modern” b2b SaaS UI feels like and find inspiration in apps like Attio and Linear.
- You’re used to owning design end-to-end → not just the UX side or just the UI side.
- You enjoy moving at startup speed rather than big company speed.
