Reboot Rx is a nonprofit startup focused on advancing affordable cancer treatments by repurposing FDA-approved generic drugs (rebootrx.org). We synthesize and evaluate published clinical evidence on repurposed generic drugs for cancer in consultation with clinical experts, advance new clinical research through strategic partnerships, and develop and disseminate evidence-based information for clinicians, health systems, and other healthcare decision-makers.

Position description:

The Fractional Medical Affairs Leader is a clinically experienced medical affairs expert who will help design and guide our strategy for translating evidence on affordable cancer treatments into clinical practice. This role will focus on identifying the most effective ways to reach clinicians with limited resources and designing practical pilot programs to test whether education and outreach measurably change the use of repurposed drugs. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong clinical judgment with experience in medical affairs, evidence dissemination, clinical strategy, or related work translating evidence into clinical practice.

Responsibilities:

• Help develop the overall strategy for clinician education and outreach related to selected evidence-based, affordable cancer treatments.
• Evaluate and prioritize potential dissemination approaches, including CMEs, publications, partnerships, digital outreach, clinician email campaigns, webinars, sponsored content, and guideline and pathway engagement.
• Recommend which clinician audiences to target first and why.
• Guide the design of practical pilot programs by helping define interventions, target sites, audiences, and measurable endpoints to assess the impact of clinician education and outreach.
• Advise on meaningful and feasible behavioral and clinical outcomes, as well as measures of potential cost savings.
• Review key external-facing materials to ensure scientific accuracy and credibility.
• Participate selectively in conversations with key clinical or organizational partners.
• Collaborate with internal team members who support project management, operations, content development, and execution.
• Help synthesize learnings from dissemination efforts and pilots to refine strategy over time.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Advanced degree such as MD, PharmD, or PhD, with strong clinical fluency.
• Significant experience in oncology or other relevant clinical areas (e.g., drug repurposing).
• 10+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical strategy, scientific affairs, pathway development, implementation, or related functions (e.g., regulatory, commercial).
• Demonstrated experience guiding adoption of evidence-based interventions.
• Experience working across multiple implementation channels such as CMEs, publications, KOL engagement, educational outreach, or partner-led dissemination.
• Experience contributing to or designing real-world pilots, demonstration projects, or other practical programs to assess uptake and impact.
• Excellent judgment in interpreting and communicating clinical evidence.
• Ability to make strong prioritization decisions under budget constraints.
• Ability to operate with credibility in external settings and represent the organization well.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Details:

This is a remote, part-time fractional 1099 role with an anticipated engagement of approximately 3-6 months, with opportunity to extend.
