The Children’s Book Bank is a Toronto-based non-profit dedicated to improving literacy and socioeconomic outcomes by providing free books and literacy support to children in high-needs neighborhoods. With four community spaces in areas such as Regent Park and Jane and Finch, children and their families can visit regularly to select free books to take home and build personal libraries. Since its founding in 2008, the organization has distributed over 1.5 million books, expanding its reach further through partnerships with 150+ community organizations including food banks and schools. By promoting equal access to books, The Children’s Book Bank fosters a lifelong love of reading and learning among underserved communities.

Role Description
This is a temporary, hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, with opportunities for a mix of in-person and remote work. As the Fractional Fundraising Lead, you will develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the organization’s mission. Core responsibilities include cultivating donor relationships, securing sponsorships and grants, planning fundraising campaigns, and managing robust donor communications. You will also collaborate closely with leadership to identify new funding opportunities and refine existing strategies.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in fundraising strategies, donor cultivation, and securing strategic sponsorships
- Proven skills in grant-writing, proposal development, donor communication, and financial goal-setting
- Experience leading fundraising events and campaigns, including donor engagement and stewardship
- Proficiency in data analysis and donor management tools to track contribution trends and performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging for diverse audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently in a hybrid work environment
- Knowledge of or experience in the non-profit or charitable sector is an asset
- Previous experience contributing to literacy or child-focused initiatives is considered an advantage
