About Us

General Collaboration (GC) is an early-stage startup in need of data engineering help. Our product is a cross-app inbox for comments in apps people use at work (e.g., Google Docs, Figma, Notion, Linear, GitHub, etc).

With GC, our users (primarily product managers and members of product teams at tech companies) are able to easily see and reply to all your comments from all their apps, all in one place. GC also prioritizes important comments and hides those that are less relevant/important so our users are always focused on what’s most impactful for them and their team.

Unlike most early-stage startups, we have quite a bit of data. In addition to standard usage data we also, for each of our users, have all their comments as well as all the comments that exist in all the documents they have access to within all the apps they use at work.

Key Deliverables:

Project #1

• Identify appropriate usage events and then name, define, and create them in our codebase
• Build / rebuild our “data stack”, as necessary
• Build out dashboards to monitor engagement, retention, etc.

Project #2

• Using comment data from 3P apps, create a ‘collaboration graph’ which we can use to identify high-value potential new users

Going Forward

After these initial two projects, there's an opportunity for this to turn into an ongoing fractional relationship if the fit is right. Future day-to-day data engineering, data science, growth work + new projects.
