Fractional Creative Director — Lyons Leather Co.

Remote · 10–20 hrs/week · Monthly Retainer · Contract

Lyons Leather Co. is a Colorado-born, woman-founded leather goods brand beloved by 20,000+ customers for our handcrafted pouches, minimalist design, and tight-knit community. We're growing fast — and we need a creative partner who can help us show up consistently, beautifully, and on-brand across every touchpoint.

As our Fractional Creative Director, you'll be the keeper of the brand aesthetic and the creative muscle behind everything our customers see — from Instagram to paid ads to the inbox. You'll work closely with the founder and our small internal team to set the creative standard, protect the brand voice, and bring big ideas to life on a lean budget.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves both strategy and execution — equally comfortable writing a creative brief as they are giving line-level feedback on ad copy.

What You'll Do

Photoshoot Direction

  • Lead creative direction for all product and lifestyle photoshoots
  • Develop shot lists, mood boards, and styling guides in advance of each shoot
  • Art direct on set or remotely to ensure images align with brand vision
  • Manage photographer, locations and model relationships and briefs
  • Ensure every shoot answers customer questions around sizing, fit, and use case

Brand Stewardship

  • Own and evolve the Lyons Leather Co. brand guidelines
  • Review and approve all outward-facing creative before it goes live
  • Maintain a consistent visual and verbal identity across all channels
  • Identify and course-correct any off-brand creative across the team

Email, Social & Paid Creative

  • Review and provide feedback on all email campaigns, flows, and copy
  • Review social content calendar and individual posts before publishing
  • Evaluate paid ad creative and copy across Meta, Google, and any other active channels
  • Ensure messaging is consistent, compelling, and conversion-focused

Strategy & Creative Vision

  • Bring seasonal creative concepts and campaign ideas to the founder
  • Identify gaps in our content library and prioritize what to shoot or create next
  • Stay current on trends in DTC, leather goods, and lifestyle — and know when to lean in vs. stay true to our own aesthetic

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of creative direction experience, ideally in DTC, fashion, accessories, or lifestyle brands
  • A strong portfolio with evidence of brand building — not just pretty work, but work that drove results
  • Proven experience directing photoshoots, including casting, styling, and on-set art direction
  • Sharp eye for copy — you can tell when a headline is working and why
  • Comfortable giving direct, constructive creative feedback to founders, photographers, and copywriters
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple reviews and deadlines in a part-time capacity
  • A genuine appreciation for our brand, products and everything we staqnd for
  • Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, and Meta Ads Manager a plus
