They are exploring the expansion of their service offerings into providing full-service Finance & Accounting services for their current and future clients. They are looking for an experienced Fractional CFO to guide the strategic development and growth of this division.
Job Summary
The Fractional Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, structure, and operations of the newly formed accounting and finance division. In this flexible, part-time role, you will work closely with senior leadership to build out financial services tailored to the needs of our diverse client base. This role involves financial planning, operational scaling, and ensuring financial best practices to drive profitability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop the financial strategy and operational framework for the new accounting and finance division.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management for the division.
- Collaborate with leadership to design service offerings that meet client needs in areas such as financial reporting, tax planning, budgeting, and audits.
- Implement financial systems, processes, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance across client services.
- Provide strategic insights and financial analysis to inform decision-making for both internal operations and client-facing services.
- Identify and secure funding or investment opportunities to support division growth.
- Create pricing models and fee structures for the division's services, ensuring profitability and competitive market positioning.
- Oversee cash flow management, capital allocation, and financial sustainability of the division.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor the division's financial performance and ensure continuous improvement.
- Guide the recruitment of financial and accounting professionals as the division scales.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering high-level financial guidance on complex financial matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, with expertise in accounting and financial services.
- Experience as a Fractional CFO or in a similar consulting capacity, with the ability to work flexibly and part-time.
- Proven track record in scaling financial operations or new business units.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, audits, and general accounting practices.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and risk management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence leadership and clients.
- Experience in pricing strategy and financial service delivery is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
